U-19 World Champion captain Yash Dhul’s century in the second innings also helped Delhi draw the match with Tamil Nadu. Dhul has created history with a century. He has scored a century in both the innings of debut of first class cricket. He also became only the third player to score a century in both the innings of his Ranji Trophy debut. Dhul achieved this feat against Tamil Nadu while playing for Delhi. Yash scored 113 runs in the first innings and 113 not out in the second innings.

Prior to Yash, former Nari contractor and Virag Avte had scored centuries in both the innings of their Ranji Trophy debut. The match played between Delhi and Tamil Nadu ended in a draw.

With the help of six wickets from 16-year-old fast bowler Eden Apple Tom, Kerala won the first league match of the Ranji Trophy by 166 runs over Meghalaya. Eden took 4 for 41 in the first innings and 2 for 30 in the second. Due to this performance, he was adjudged the player of the match. Meghalaya scored 148 runs in the first innings. In reply, Kerala declared the innings at 505 for the loss of 9 wickets. In the second innings, Meghalaya could only manage 191 runs.

Bengal won their league match
Bengal beat Baroda by 4 wickets in the Ranji Trophy match played at Cuttack. Baroda scored 181 runs in the first innings and 255 runs in the second innings. On the other hand, Bengal were bundled out for 88 runs in the first innings, while in the second innings they completed the target by scoring 350 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and thus won the match by 4 wickets. For Bengal, Ishan Porel took 4 wickets in the first innings and 3 wickets in the second innings.

Rajasthan defeated Andhra Pradesh by 158 runs in their first league match played in the Elite Group E of Ranji Trophy. Rajasthan scored 275 in the first innings and 316 in the second innings. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh could only score 224 runs in the first innings and 209 runs in the second innings.

Abdul Samad of Jammu hit a stormy century
Abdul Samad completed his century in 68 balls on Saturday in the match being played between Jammu and Puducherry. He played a blistering innings of 103 runs in 78 balls. This is the second fastest century in the history of Ranji Trophy. In 2016, Rishabh Pant scored a century in just 48 balls against Jharkhand while playing for Delhi. Apart from him, Kamran Iqbal also scored 96 runs.

J&K scored 426 runs in the first innings. Earlier, Puducherry had scored 343 runs in the first innings. Puducherry’s score in the second innings is 113/9 till the end of the third day’s play. Puducherry has a 30-run lead. Former captain Parvez Rasool took 5 wickets in the second innings for J&K.
