Announcement of England team for Pakistan tour, stormy batsman will debut

New Delhi: The England team will tour Pakistan in December. England has announced its team for this tour. Will Jack has got a place in the England Test team for the first time. A 15-man squad has been announced for the three-match Test tour of Pakistan. Jack has played a vital role in this summer season with bat and ball.

Liam Livingstone ready for Test debut

Limited overs middle order batsman Liam Livingstone is all set to make his Test debut. The interesting aspect is the inclusion of Livingstone in the team. He has recently been given his first central contract by the ECB. He was an extra batsman during England’s tour of New Zealand in early 2018, but has not featured in the Test set-up since then.

Keaton Jennings has also returned to the team after two years. With the Lancashire team, he has emerged as the highest run-scorer in the County Championship Division One. He scored 1233 runs at an average of 72.52 with five centuries. Stuart Broad, one of England’s leading players in the red-ball format, was no longer available for selection. He is on paternity leave.

Jamie Overton made place

Mark Wood and Jamie Overton are the other two fast bowlers who have been included in the squad. Wood will feature in Tests for the first time since March, while Overton has been named again after his impressive performance on his Test debut against New Zealand in the summer. Rob Key, the ECB’s managing director of England Men’s Cricket, said: “We look forward to touring Pakistan as a Test team for the first time since 2005. It will be a historic tour. It will be a fascinating series against a good team.” The team has a strong mix of youth and experienced players.

England out of race for final

As far as the current World Test Championship is concerned, England are already out of the running for the final. He is placed at the bottom of the WTC table with 38.60 percentage points. He has played 19 matches so far, winning seven and losing eight. The series will begin with the first Test in Rawalpindi on December 1, followed by the next two matches in Multan and Karachi.
