San Francisco, October 21 (IANS). Apple may launch a smaller version of macOS exclusively for the M2 iPad Pro. The device still can run iPad-optimized apps, not the macOS version. It is being tested with a 25% larger version to make the macOS UI touch-friendly. The device is code-named Mendocino and will probably be released as macOS 14 in 2023.
Apple’s decision to switch the iPad to the macOS interface at this half-step is unclear, the report said.
Meanwhile, recently, the company launched the new iPad with an all-screen design with a large 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display that is powered by the A14 Bionic chip.
The devices include advanced cameras, faster wireless connectivity, USB-C, support for the new Magic Keyboard Folio and more.
Available in 28 countries and territories including the US, the Wi-Fi model of the iPad was available with a starting price of Rs 44,900 and the Wi-Fi Plus cellular model was available for Rs 59,900.
The iPad came in 64GB and 256GB configurations, in blue, pink, yellow and silver colours.
The device featured updated cameras including an ultra-wide 12MP front camera located on the landscape edge of the iPad for a better video calling experience and an updated 12MP back camera for capturing sharp, vivid photos and 4K videos.
