Bilawal said – Biden should ask questions to India
After Biden’s statement, Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto took the lead. During a press conference at Bilawal House in Karachi, he said that Pakistan’s nuclear assets meet every international standard as per IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) as far as safety and security is concerned. If there are any questions about nuclear security, they should be done from our neighbor India, who recently accidentally fired missiles into Pakistani territory. He said that this is not only irresponsible and unsafe but also raises a real and serious concern about the security of nuclear capable countries. Bilawal said that I am shocked by President Biden’s remarks. I believe this is exactly the same kind of misunderstanding that arises when there is a lack of engagement between the two countries. Bilawal said that Pakistan has resumed bilateral ties with the US and has just celebrated the 75th anniversary of ties with the US.
America should have asked me the question
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if there was such a concern, I think it would have been raised in the meeting with me. I believe we have just resumed our engagement. We will have many more opportunities to engage with America and address any concerns. They may also have misconceptions about this particular issue. He said that we have called the ambassador to raise an objection. Bilawal said that the US should be given an opportunity to clarify the situation. I don’t think it negatively affects relations between Pakistan and the US. Bilawal said, we will continue the positive relations between the two countries.
Bilawal himself clarified on Biden’s statement
The Pakistani Foreign Minister further said that Pakistan has nothing to do with Biden’s statement. We would call their ambassador and ask for a clarification, but I don’t think it was an official event. It was a fundraising program. During this, Biden said this about Pakistan during the Untradition Conversation. I think we will look at this statement as such. Bilawal also said that Pakistan should not think of conspiracy behind it. He clarified that if the government felt any pressure, it would have been brought before the public. But it is not such an issue, we have different stand on different issues, but when you are responsible and mature state, your relations are related to different countries.
