Germany’s leading automaker BMW (BMW), famous for making luxury cars, on Thursday launched the X3 (X3) SUV in India in a diesel variant. The ex-showroom price of the new car has been kept at Rs 65.50 lakh. It is made locally in India at the company’s plant in Chennai. Starting today, it will be available for sale at official BMW dealerships along with the existing petrol trims.
In terms of pricing, the new BMW X3 xDrive20d trim is priced close to the higher-spec X3 xDrive30i M Sport, which has been priced at Rs 65.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Otherwise, the X3 price starts at Rs.59.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the X3 xDrive30i SportX Plus trim.
Engine power and speed
The new BMW X3 diesel gets a refreshed exterior design along with a more powerful diesel engine with BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology. This engine is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel unit that generates power of 140 kW / 190 hp and peak torque of 400 Nm at 1,750 – 2,500 rpm. The top speed of this car is 213 kmph. Along with this, this car can catch 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds.
Introduced as a luxury edition, the new BMW X3 xDrive20d is available in multiple color options. It includes colors like Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, Brooklyn Grey, Sophisto Grey, Black Sapphire and Carbon Black.
