Bombay High Court reserved verdict in the dispute between actor Salman Khan and neighbor, know what is the whole matter

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Tuesday reserved its verdict on an appeal filed by Salman Khan. The actor had filed this appeal against an interim order of a civil court refusing to block/suspend the social media accounts of his neighbor Ketan Kakkar. Salman had accused Kakkar of allegedly posting derogatory material against him and posting religiously inflammatory material.

Justice CV Bhadang today reserved the appeal after an extensive hearing on the appeal for nearly two months. Khan, through his lawyers, argued that the videos posted on social media by his neighbor were not only defamatory but also communally provocative.

The lawsuit states that Kakkar had made false, defamatory and defamatory allegations in videos, posts and tweets that harmed Khan, his family members and his business ventures. Therefore, Khan sought injunctive relief against the defendants, including other individuals and social media giants such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, YouTube and their Indian counterparts.

At the same time, Kakkar, through his advocates Abha Singh and Aditya Pratap Singh, argued that his statements revolved around facts about Khan’s assets, and hence it could not be a defamation case.

Significantly, a Mumbai court in this regard had rejected Khan’s application in March 2022. While doing so, the court had observed that there was documentary evidence to substantiate the claims made against Khan relating to illegal encroachment and violation of the Forest Act.
