DU: Seats Full in Political Science, BA Program and BCom, Today Is the Last Day for the First Cutoff Admission

Wednesday is the last day for admission in undergraduate courses from the first cutoff. After taking admission, students can deposit fees on the portal till 5 pm on Friday. Students are advised not to miss if they have not enrolled yet. The chances of admission in the next cutoff will be reduced.

Political Science, BA Program (Combination), Physics, BCom are overtaking other courses in the admission race for undergraduate courses in Delhi University (DU). Many reputed colleges have either more than or one-third of the seats in these courses. These courses are houseful in colleges. Wednesday is the last day for admissions from the first cutoff. Many colleges are assuming that seats in these courses will be filled by Wednesday. Due to this, there will not be any second cutoff for these courses. So far, two-thirds (more than 47 thousand) of applications have been received for the total 70 thousand seats of DU.

It is a matter of relief for the students that in many colleges, many options for admission in the second cutoff will be open. Taking experience from the first cutoff, colleges will be careful in the second cutoff as well. In such a situation, there is a possibility of a reduction in the cutoff by only 0.25 to 1 percent. From the first cut-off list, Ramjas, Hindu College, LSR, SRCC, Hansraj, Kirori Mal, and other colleges had a faster admission on the second day as well. Even after the high cutoff, the students took admission here. Especially the students of Telangana Board are taking more admission.

Telangana and Kerala students filling seats

In DU, till the past years, the North Campus colleges were the first choice for the students of Telangana and Kerala boards, but this time in the out-of-campus also the students of these boards are overshadowing other boards. Rajesh, the admission coordinator of Aryabhatta College, says that earlier the students of UP Board and Bihar Board used to take admission, but this time a large number of applications are coming from students who have passed from Kerala and Telangana. The marks of these students are very good. He is also doing this to secure a seat in the first cutoff. A similar trend is being seen in colleges located in North Campus and Central Delhi. Dr. Manoj Khanna, Principal of Ramjas College said that many students of the Kerala Board have 100% marks. Many students of this board have applied to the college.

For admission to undergraduate courses in DU, in the first two days, two-thirds of the applications have come against a total of 70 thousand seats.
