T20 World Cup Gary Kirsten: India’s 2011 World Cup winning team coach Gary Kirsten and Australia’s Dan Christian have joined the Netherlands cricket team as consultants for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The Netherlands had qualified for the T20 World Cup in July. They will take on the United Arab Emirates, Namibia and Sri Lanka in the group stage matches on October 16, 18 and 20 respectively. The top two teams in the group stage will qualify for the Super 12.

Roland Lefebvre, an official of the Royal Dutch Cricket Federation (KNBC), said in a statement, “We are extremely excited to add both Gary Kirsten and Dan Christian to our coaching staff for the T20 World Cup. He is very experienced which will help the team in the World Cup. The Netherlands team attended a practice camp at the Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy in Cape Town in September and was then coached by Kirsten.
