New Delhi: Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has opened a front against Punjab Cricket Association chief Gulzarinder Chahal. Harbhajan has written a letter to the association appealing to raise his voice against Gulzarinder Chahal. He wrote a strongly worded open letter to all the stakeholders of the body, alleging illegal activities in connection with the offer of new membership by the Chairman.
Harbhajan Singh wrote a letter
Harbhajan urged the PCA members and stakeholders to come together and stop such illegal activities to maintain the integrity of the state body. World Cup-winning former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who also serves as a Rajya Sabha MP, said that he has been receiving complaints for the last 10 days that PCA president Gulzarinder Singh Chahal is resorting to illegal activities.
Harbhajan Singh has written in his letter that since last week or ten days I have been receiving many complaints from cricket lovers and many stakeholders in Punjab that during the tenure of the current President, there are many illegal activities happening inside the PCA which is a matter of transparency and cricket. It is against the spirit of the administration. Harbhajan wrote in the letter, “I came to know that yesterday a complaint has been lodged with the Lokpal in this regard.”
Many allegations against the president of Punjab Cricket Association
Harbhajan said the crux of the issue was that the Punjab Cricket Association was trying hard to include around 150 members with voting rights to tilt the balance in their favour. Harbhajan alleges that all these things are being done without the consent of his consulate or Apex Council. These are against the constitution of BCCI, guidelines of PCA and transparency of sports bodies.
