ICICI Bank has extended the deadline of Golden Years FD, a special fixed deposit scheme for senior citizens, till April 8, 2022. Earlier the last date to invest in this scheme was March 31. Under these schemes, senior citizens are getting higher interest than normal FD. Earlier, State Bank of India (SBI) has extended the last date to invest in its ‘Wecare’ scheme till 30 September.

Golden Years FD Scheme of ICICI Bank
ICICI Bank has now launched a special fixed deposit scheme for senior citizens called Golden Years FD. Investing in this scheme will get 0.75% more interest than ordinary FD. At present, ICICI Bank is getting the highest interest of 5.60% on FDs of more than 5 and up to 10 years. That is, now senior citizens will get maximum 6.35% interest under this scheme.

This scheme will be applicable on deposits up to Rs 2 crore for a tenure of 5 years 1 day to 10 years. This scheme will be applicable for renewing old FD along with new FD. If ICICI Bank is of Golden Years FD, then credit card can also be taken on it. Click here for more information

SBI extends ‘WeCare’ scheme till September 30
State Bank of India (SBI) has extended its ‘Wecare’ special deposit scheme till 30 September 2022. Earlier its last date was kept as 31 March 2022. Under this scheme, Senior Citizens will get 0.80% more interest on Fixed Deposit (FD) for 5 years or more as compared to the interest earned on regular FD. Currently, SBI is offering a maximum interest of 5.40% on fixed deposits.

Under this scheme, interest on FDs of more than 5 years will be 0.80%, which includes an additional 0.30%. SBI is currently offering 5.40% interest on FDs of 5 or more tenures. That is, if you invest under this scheme for 5 years now, then you will get 6.20% interest. However, no additional interest will be paid on premature withdrawal.
