It was a matter of the theory of
Agra, Siddhant Batra of Agra got 270th rank in JEE Advanced-2020. He had registered in JoSAA-2020 for B.Tech in IIT Bombay and Electrical Engineering course. In the first round, Siddhant selected the seat. While updating the roll number, he accidentally clicked on the link to return the seat in the next round. This meant that they did not need admission. In the second round of counseling on November 10, the mistake was discovered by not seeing the name of Siddhant. The matter reached the Supreme Court from the Bombay High Court. IITs cited business rules and said that they cannot do anything. To avoid such mistakes, IITs have started mock seat allotment.

Chandigarh’s Kota in NIT Delhi
In NIT Delhi, 50% of seats are reserved for the students of Chandigarh. Actually, Chandigarh is a union territory. Hence the Home State Quota is applicable for the students of Chandigarh in NIT Delhi. On the other hand, Ladakh is now completely separated from Jammu and Kashmir. Ladakh is now a union territory. There is no NIT there as of now, so five percent of seats in the B.Tech course of the Srinagar-based NIT will be reserved for the students of Ladakh. 50% of seats are reserved for the students of the home state of Jammu and Kashmir.
