India vs Pakistan Series: A big shocking news has come to the fans waiting for the cricket series between India and Pakistan. There has been no bilateral series between the two teams for the last ten years. But now it is not possible to have a series between India and Pakistan even for the next five years.
In fact, in the Future Tour Program (FTP) sent by BCCI to all state associations till 2023-2027, the Pakistan column has been kept blank. According to this, the Indian team will play more matches against Australia and England. There is a series schedule of Tests and Limited Overs every year.
The Indian team has played 38 Tests (20 home, 18 abroad), 42 ODIs (21 home, 21 abroad), 61 T20 (31 home, 30 overseas) matches during these five years (2023-2027) in multi-nation tournaments. Will play Let us tell you that until the approval of the Government of India, BCCI cannot take any decision on playing bilateral series with Pakistan.
When was the last India-Pakistan series held?
There has been no bilateral series between India and Pakistan for almost 10 years. The last time the Pakistan team toured India was in 2012-13. Then there was a series of three ODIs and two T20 matches between the two teams. Then the Pakistan team won the ODI series 2-1, while the T20 series was tied at 1-1. Since then both the teams are seen playing matches against each other in ICC tournaments itself.
There will be fewer matches this time than in the previous FTP
However, the Indian team will play less matches in this FTP than in the previous FTP under the bilateral series. Team India played 163 matches under bilateral series in the last FTP, while in the next FTP, the team has to play 141 matches. The reason for the decrease in matches is that ICC events happen every year and the Indian Premier League (IPL) window (75 to 80 days per season) is also increasing.
More matches will be played than Australia-England
But BCCI secretary Jay Shah has said in the circular issued by him that the number of matches may have been reduced, but the quality has also been increased. That is, the Indian team will play more matches against Australia and England. A 5-match Test series will be played against both the teams every two years. Of these, one will be domestic and one will be in the house of the opposition team. Every year there will be some (Test or limited overs) series against Australia and England.
