He is someone that every team wants. Ostwal said that he was worried for a few days before the mega auction to be held on February 12 and 13, as he always wanted to be a part of the IPL.

Ostwal said that he may not get a chance to play in IPL 2022 but sharing the dressing room with some of the biggest names in world cricket will help him become a better cricketer. Ostwal said, ‘I have been watching IPL since I was a kid. It was always a dream to play in IPL, because it is the biggest platform you can get. I am really happy that I have been selected by Delhi Capitals for this year’s IPL.

Ostwal further said, ‘I was in my room, watching the auction and my name came very late. When I knew I had done well in the T20 U-19 World Cup. But at the same time it was a mega auction, so I thought they would go with the same squad. There were chances that I might not get selected. For two days I was worried and it was really pleasant when I was picked by Delhi.

Delhi Capitals has bought Vicky Ostwal for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. In the Delhi team, he will share the dressing room with his Under-19 World Cup winning captain Yash Dhul, who was bought by the franchise for Rs 50 lakh.
