JoSAA 2021: Counseling Process Starts From Today, IITs, NITs and Other Institutes Will Get Admission

JoSAA 2021 counseling: It is mandatory for the candidates to register themselves on josaa.nic.in within the given date, otherwise, they will not be able to participate in the subsequent counseling.

The counseling process for IITs, NITs, IIITs, IITs, and GFTIs will be started by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from today i.e. 16 October 2021. Candidates who have passed the engineering entrance exam can apply by visiting josaa.nic.in.  This entire counseling process will be conducted in 6 rounds and all the rounds consist of multiple stages like registration, selection, seat allotment, fee deposition for seat confirmation, and reporting in the allotted college. The registration window for the first round of counseling will be open from October 16 to October 25. It is mandatory for the candidates to register themselves on josaa.nic.in within the given date, otherwise, they will not be able to participate in the subsequent counseling. No separate registration is required for the next round of counseling.

To register for JOSAA 2021 counseling, candidates need to keep the below-mentioned documents ready. 
  • 3 Passport size photographs, same as those used in JEE Main registration.
  • Scanned copy of the signature.
  • Class X mark sheet for age identification.
  • Marksheet of class 12th.
  • Valid photo identity card, eg Aadhar card.
  • Documents of class or caste certificate, if required.

  • JEE Advanced Result Card
After completing the registration of JOSAA counseling, candidates can do choice filling on the basis of their marks and rank in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. JoSAA will release the seat allotment list after the candidates complete this process. After this, the candidates who want to choose the allotted seat will have to pay the fee to confirm their seats. To complete the admission process one has to report at the allotted college along with the provisional admission letter and other documents. Candidates can float the allotted seat only till the sixth round as it will be the last round for admission in IITs, NITs.
