Mohammed Shami not completely ready?

New Delhi: Rohit Sharma had said on Saturday that he would watch Mohammed Shami closely in the nets at the Gabba. The Indian captain, like other players in the team, was completely ignorant about the stormy bowler’s fitness. Although he may not have been impressed by what he saw at the Gabba on Sunday.

Shami bowled in the nets for about 30 minutes but was not entirely impressive. After this questions have arisen whether Mohammed Shami is really fit for the T20 World Cup? The selectors have picked Shami to replace Jasprit Bumrah but the pacer failed to impress in his maiden training session in Australia on Sunday.

Shami was struggling a bit

He was seen bowling to teammate Dinesh Karthik in the practice nets. Shami was struggling a bit. Shami could not beat Karthik even once in 30 minutes. The veteran pacer dismissed the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman only when he recklessly attempted to play a scoop shot.

After the session the team’s bowling coach Paras Mhambrey was seen having a discussion with Shami. Shami has not only played any active cricket in the last few months but has also recovered from Kovid-19. Concerns about his fitness will certainly be a headache for the Indian team in the World Cup.
