The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has allowed unmarried women to apply for the National Defense Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy exams.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday allowed unmarried women/girls to apply for the National Defense Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy exams. Let us inform you that this decision has been taken by the commission after the order of the Supreme Court. The top court ordered the inclusion of women in the NDA exam to be held in November and asked the UPSC to issue a fresh notification in this regard. After which UPSC has opened the application window only for unmarried female candidates on its official website upsconline.nic.in. The application window for women candidates will remain open from September 24 to October 8 (up to 6 pm), said a statement issued by the UPSC. The physical standards and the number of vacancies for female candidates will be notified after receipt from the Ministry of Defence.
Female candidates will not have to pay Application fee for applying.
Candidates should note that no application will be accepted after the stipulated last date/time i.e. 08.10.2021 (up to 6 PM). The candidate will have to apply through online mode only, apart from this, the application made through any other medium will not be accepted. The statement also said that female candidates are not required to deposit any kind of application fee for this examination. This process is free for them.
