The new Baleno is no small facelift. A major change has been made in its look. The rear has been updated. The bonnet looks fresh with the big headlamps featuring the new LED DRL light signature. The grille is bigger than the current Baleno. It has a silver stripe base at the bottom. Maruti has also given the fog lamps with a new look in the front bumper. There are new 16-inch diamond cut alloys, which look better than the old Baleno. The side sees plenty of chrome work along with a thick chrome line. Extensive new tail-lamps with C-shaped have been given. In short, the new Baleno looks more aggressive now.
The interior is all new and has been completely revamped. It gets a new big touchscreen with a new infotainment system. The blue finishing with a silver layer in the middle of the black colored dashboard gives a premium look to the dashboard. The quality has also been updated. However, you do not get a full digital instrument cluster. The 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with multi tile menu system looks brand new and premium. Same is the case with the new i20. Like the Swift, a new steering wheel has also been given. Space is the same as before.
What the old Baleno lacked in features is now a new large touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, heads up display, wireless charging, 360° view camera, climate control, rear sensors, rear AC vents, power folding mirrors, 6 airbags etc. Updated with. However, there is no sunroof.
Baleno will get a single 1.2 liter petrol engine option with engine start/stop feature, which saves fuel. Like the current Baleno, the new Baleno can also be the most efficient car in its segment. However, the SHVS system cannot be given in it. Standard will get a 5-speed manual transmission while it will also get an AMT automatic. Unlike the current Baleno, there will be no CVT automatic transmission.
The current Baleno is priced between Rs.6 to 9.6 lakhs, but the top-end trims of the new Baleno could get a price hike of around Rs.50,000 due to the added features. The new Baleno has become heavier than before. With these new features, Baleno looks like a more complete package.
