Rahul Gandhi’s Statement On India’s Ranking In Global Hunger Index 2022

Rahul Gandhi On Global Hunger Index: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has made a scathing attack on PM Modi regarding the serious condition of India in the Global Hunger Index-2022. Rahul Gandhi tweeted and wrote, “India ranked 107th out of 121 countries in hunger and malnutrition. Now the Prime Minister and his ministers will say that hunger is not increasing in India, but people are not feeling hungry in other countries.”

Rahul Gandhi further wrote that, “How long will the RSS-BJP work to weaken India by misleading the public in reality?” Along with Rahul Gandhi, senior party leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, P. Chidambaram and other Congress leaders have also targeted the government.

Mallikarjun Kharge also asked the question

Congress Presidential candidate Mallikarjun Kharge asked that Modi ji, is there any other excuse left? He said that India again slipped downwards in the hunger index. BJP is trying to hide the facts due to which this situation has arisen.

India lags behind in Global Hunger Index

Let us tell you that, on Saturday (15 October), non-governmental organizations from Ireland and Germany, Concern Worldwide and Welt Hunger Hilf have released the Global Hunger Report of 121 countries. India is at 107th in this list. Neighboring countries Sri Lanka (64), Pakistan (99), Bangladesh (84) and Nepal (81) are in a better position than India. Only Afghanistan is behind India in Asia and it is at number 109.

The central government rejected the report

However, the Indian government has rejected this report. On Saturday, the central government said that this report is not only different from the ground reality, but also deliberately ignores the work done by the government during the corona epidemic. The Center said that through this an attempt has been made to tarnish the image of India. Also, it was said by the government that issuing false information every year seems to be the hallmark of the Global Hunger Index.
