Earlier, directing the government to take steps to include women in the NDA this year itself, the Supreme Court had told Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Aishwarya Bhati that the government should take up the issues related to women’s admission in these two institutions. should also be resolved.
The entrance exam will be held in June 2022.
Earlier, the Center had decided to induct women candidates into the National Defense Academy. Union Public Service Commission, UPSC will close the application process by October 8, 2021. At the same time, admission to Rashtriya Indian Military College will be done through the entrance exam to be held next. According to the affidavit, the intake capacity of RIMC will be increased from 250 to 300 in the first phase. Five girls will have to be involved in this process every six months. The entrance exam for RIMC will be conducted in June 2022.

- From now on girls are allowed to study in military colleges and schools that exist across the country.
- The admission process for girl students will start from next year or next academic session.
- Until now, these institutions were purely boys’ establishments, and girls were denied admission.
- RIMC will cover 5 girls in six months and 10 girls in six months in Phase 1 and Phase 2 respectively.
In the second phase of RIMC admission, the intake capacity will increase from 300 to 350 seats with the induction of 10 girls in six months. The last expansion will take place in the year 2027. By 2027, RIMC will have 250 boys and 100 girls.
