The last week proved to be beneficial for the stock market investors. The market cap of seven of the top-10 companies listed on the BSE increased by more than Rs 1 lakh crore. Amidst the boom, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance and Ratan Tata’s TCS made tremendous earnings to their shareholders. The investors of both the companies made a profit of about Rs 60,000 crore within a week.
Sensex got so much jump
Last week, despite a day off on the occasion of Dussehra, there was an increase in the domestic stock market. The 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex index was up 764.37 points or 1.33 per cent. During this, the combined market capitalization of seven of the top-10 most valuable companies listed on the BSE rose by Rs 1,01,043.69 crore. Reliance Industries Limited and TCS were the biggest gainers.
Reliance made huge profits
Last week, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries (Mukesh Ambani RIL) made the most of its investors. The company’s market cap rose by Rs 37,581.61 crore to Rs 16,46,182.66 crore. Ratan Tata’s Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was at number two in terms of earnings. Its market capitalization increased to Rs 11,21,480.95 crore. Shareholders of the company added assets worth Rs 22,082.37 crore in a week. Talking about the total earnings of the investors of both the firms, they made Rs 59,663.98 crore in this period.
These companies also made profit
Besides Reliance and TCS, the market value of Infosys increased by Rs 16,263.25 crore to Rs 6,10,871.36 crore, while that of ICICI Bank rose by Rs 13,433.27 crore to Rs 6,14,589.87 crore. HDFC’s m-cap increased by Rs 6,733.19 crore to Rs 4,22,810.22 crore and that of HDFC Bank by Rs 4,623.07 crore to Rs 7,96,894.04 crore. Apart from this, Bajaj Finance added Rs 326.93 crore to the market cap and it increased to Rs 4,44,563.66 crore.
Loss to HUL-SBI
While there was a jump in the market capitalization (MCap) of seven companies amidst the outflow in the stock market last week, the investors of three companies have suffered a setback. Of these, the market cap of Hindustan Unilever decreased by Rs 23,025.99 crore to Rs 6,10,623.53 crore. With this, there was a decrease of Rs 3,532.65 crore in the mCap of Bharti Airtel. The value of the company came down to Rs 4,41,386.80 crore. The investors of the country’s largest bank SBI also suffered losses. Its mcap declined by Rs 624.73 crore to Rs 4,73,316.78 crore.
Reliance most valuable company
It is worth noting that the investors of Reliance Industries were facing losses for the last few weeks. But last week it got braked. Let us tell you that among the most valuable companies of the country, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance remains at number one in terms of market cap (Reliance MCap). This is followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, InfoSys, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), SBI, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel. And the number of HDFC (HDFC) comes.
