Jio 5G Speed Data
Reliance Jio has started 5G network beta trial. Although the number of users invited for beta trials appears to be small, they will continue to grow over time. Jio has announced this 5G trial in four cities – New Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi and Mumbai.
Highest download speed in Delhi
According to Ookla, in Kolkata, the average download speed offered by Jio was 482.02 Mbps. In Mumbai and Varanasi, the average download speed offered by Jio was 515.38 Mbps and 485.22 Mbps. For Delhi, as mentioned above, the average download speed has been recorded at 598.58 Mbps.
Must have 5G Smartphone
Reliance Jio is deploying 5G SA (Standalone), which means that its network will run on 5G core and will not depend on the existing LTE core. Users can check the invitation for Jio’s 5G on the MyJio app. Note that in order to use 5G, the smartphone settings must be 5G enabled and also be aware that not every device supports 5G SA. But OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) are working on rolling out OTA (over-the-air) updates for smartphones to support 5G SA connectivity, and very soon, more devices will support Jio’s 5G. Jio has branded its 5G services – “True 5G” as it is coming with 5G SA.
