Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the Scorpio Classic SUV. It is offered in two variants. Its S variant costs Rs 11.99 lakh and the S11 variant costs Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). A few weeks after the launch of the Scorpio-N SUV in India, the company has introduced the Mahindra Scorpio Classic, which is an updated version of the old generation Scorpio SUV.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic: Exterior Design
The design of the new Scorpio Classic is very similar to the old Scorpio. Changes on the new model include a fresh front grille with the new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo, a redesigned front bumper with a faux skid plate, updated foglamp housing, dual-tone cladding on both sides and a redesigned tail- Lamp is included. Mahindra is also offering a dual-tone finish to the existing 17-inch alloy wheels.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic: Interior & Features
Mahindra hasn’t changed much from inside too. However, the phone sports a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with mirroring capability; The dashboard and center console now get wood inserts and the steering wheel gets a leather finish. The Scorpio Classic gets a black and beige interior.
The Scorpio Classic is being offered with three seating layouts – two 7-seaters and one 9-seater. The first 7-seater option gets a captain seat in the second row.
In terms of features, it gets cruise control, rear parking sensors, AC vents for the second row and steering mounted controls. For safety, Mahindra is offering the SUV with two airbags, but has confirmed that it will follow the new norms in the future.
Mahindra will offer the Scorpio Classic in five exterior color options. It includes colors like Red Rays, Napoli Back, Dsat Silver, Pearl White and Galaxy Grey.
Engine and Mileage
The company has introduced a 2.2-litre Gen-2 mHawk diesel engine in the Mahindra Scorpio Classic SUV. This engine generates maximum power of 132 PS and peak torque of 300 Nm. Mahindra says that the new engine is 55Kg lighter than the old one and can give 14% better mileage.
