What happens Standard The
general guidelines for setting up Anganwadi centers are based on population norms. Usually, in rural-urban areas, one Anganwadi center is opened for 400-800 population and after that, another center can be opened in multiples of 800 if the population is more. An Anganwadi center is set up for a population of 300-800 in tribal/hill areas. Apart from this, there is also a provision for the setting up of small Anganwadi centers in remote and sparsely populated areas. An Anganwadi worker is appointed in each center for smooth operation and maintenance of these centers.
