Wasim Akram Team India World Cup: The Indian team is on a tour of Australia these days, where it has to play the T20 World Cup 2022. Team India’s first match is to be played on 23 October. Just a day before Diwali, this match will be against Pakistan in Melbourne. But before this, former Pakistan veteran Wasim Akram has given a warning to Team India.
Akram said that there is no superfast bowler in Team India, due to which Team India may have to struggle a lot in the World Cup. At the same time, Akram said that Team India should bring Umran Malik as a replacement in place of injured Jasprit Bumrah.
‘Speed works more in Australia’
Former Pakistani bowler Akram said, ‘Indian team has Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He is a good bowler with the new ball, but not in terms of pace. If the ball will not swing, they will have to struggle. There is no doubt that Bhuvi is a good bowler, but in Australia, pace works more.
Akram said, ‘The Indian team has a good batting line-up. But still he does not have a replacement for Bumrah. The middle order of the Pakistan team is very bad, due to which it is in trouble. If the middle order goes well, then Pakistan have good bowlers and openers. If they can fix the middle order, they have a chance.
‘Umran should be retained in the team’
Regarding Umran Malik, Akram said, ‘Have you seen that boy? Umran Malik… He has a lot of momentum. He went on a tour of Ireland, which proved to be very expensive, but it happens in the T20 format. The team management has to stick with him. If I was in the think tank of Team India, I would have always retained him with the team. Experience matters in T20 format. Let us tell you that Umran has the ability to bowl continuously at a speed of more than 150.
Shami, Siraj and Shardul will join Team India
Actually, Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur and Mohammad Siraj have to reach Australia today (October 13). All three will join Team India. When these three reach Australia, only after that one of them can be declared as Bumrah’s replacement. However, Shami is considered to be the strongest contender in this race.
